I went shopping, carried a large amount of groceries up some stairs and Afib has returned. Took .50 of Flecinade at noon, another 100mg at 6pm and patiently waiting to back to normal. I hate the thought of taking the final medication that is hard on the liver. The ablation Dr. called the other day and I was feeling so good, no symptoms whatsoever and we decided not to even think about an ablation. What a difference a day makes.

It's such a strange beast and so unpredictable! I feel your pain and hope it settles back down again to your ' normal' Merry Christmas to you too xx
Thanks for the reply. After taking 50 mg of Flecainide and an extra 50 mg the next morning my heart bounced back in to normal mode. I would not know anything if it were not for this group and how much Flecainide is allowed in a day. Am I now not able to do any lifting, snow shoveling, yard work? What a problem this Afib is causing.
Oh I feel for you It’s so frustrating too when you look back and think “if only I hadn’t... eg bent over/carried heavy shopping” etc. And so easy to do!
I also had just agreed with my EP that no ablation is currently needed when I suddenly went into several days of AF. I’ll need to see if I can contact him with an update!
How are you doing now, are you back in rhythm? Wishing you a healthy Christmas xx
Thank you for the reply. I am back in normal rhythm after 50mg of Flecainide in the afternoon and anther 50 mg the next morning over and above my 200mg per day. I am now happy but hesitant of doing any lifting, snow shoveling, gardening etc. I know it could be a lot worse in life so we just plod on trying to figure out this unusual heart problem!
Best wishes of the season to you.
Good to hear you are back in NSR. AF is such an 'individual' based complaint, you have to focus on your own triggers, stick with them and never relent even when, or especially when, important celebrations occur. Well thats worked for me but then as I said it is individual.
