You should definitely check with your health care team on this, but it is my understanding that either metropolol (beta blocker) and/or flecainide (antiarrhythmic) can be prescribed for pacs/ pvcs. I believe the pacs would have be relatively severe and of higher quantity for these meds to be prescribed (due to possibility of side effects) . Usually beta blocker would be tried first then antiarrhythmics.I find that the betablocker does nothing for my pacs, but lower dose of flecainde helps to some degree and reduces runs of tachycardia between pacs which over time can spit me into an afib episode. Keep safe
Google metoprolol and Flecainide given together. It seems the two work well together.I started with metoprolol for 6 years, low dose. In November, episodes became more frequent so just one week ago started low dose, 50 mg twice a day of Flec. So far, it’s miraculous.
I have a HR of low 50s and that’s fine with me. I have noticed a headache more frequently which I hope will eventually stop happening. I guess this is my new normal…for now❤️
Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear that that particular medication combination is working well to manage your pacs or pvcs. May I ask if you also experience episodes of afib or aflutter?
