Yes. I have had Hyperacusis for most of my life.It has been very difficult to live with.No cure. You have to adapt to it in various ways. ...and yes it affects my heart.

I can't tolerate noise, even when changing TV chanels, or adverts. Rarely have the radio on. Noise and flashing Xmas lights - hate them! Don't know that it has an effect on my heart though.

Ditto but also affects my neurological condition so affects my whole body which starts to shut down. Husband being deaf doesn’t help!

He had sudden onset hearing loss in one ear - we think as consequence from COVID 🙆‍♀️

Mine does not wear the hearing aids he paid €4000 for and I get very cross repeating myself!

Yes, post diagnosis for several years I was hypersensitive to noise e.g. traffic at night & tinnitus. As I came to terms with AF and how to deal with it that sensitivity slowly declined.

Hi, I thought it was just me, as I care for my 93yr old mother who is deaf and has the tv on all day ( she's housebound) it drives me mad! I also had to stop going to the cinema a couple of years back as the volume in there causes my heart to play up. Angie

I think many tv programmes have become noisier with lots of people talking at each other and loud music bursting out. The tv ads burst into the room with loud voices and over excitable people you wouldn't normally have in your quiet house. As though they were all having parties in your house! Yes, turn them off. Play some of your favourite music - much better.

So true. Here in Holland the sound of tv is much louder when the commercials are on. Nowadays I turn them off immediately on the remote and use much more the mute or the subtitles position. Tinnitus up and down but ignoring that helps a lot.

I record eveything with Humax box and fast forward through ads.

YES!!! I thought it was just me! I ware industrial ear defenders (dont laugh) I do play classical fm to sooth me when I'm in that state. If my neighbour plays his 'boom boom' music my heart goes off. If I hear a car with that terrible bass booming out of it my chest tightens. We hardly ever watch tv and instantly switch to mute when the ads come on. It's hard for my partner as he doesn't seem to mind the noise as much , but he has gone next door to ask them to turn the music down which they do thankfully. But then I am left with an awful feeling of when is it going to start again. Crazy. I have explained to my neighbours how this affects my heart and said I'm sorry to be a kill joy. I want to run away from life at times as it's too painful. What a carry on 🙄

I didn’t think I did then on Saturday I was taking part in a choral concert and when the organ came in on a very loud low note I felt it through my body and my AF kicked in immediately! Only lasted a short time but quite scary. 🤣

I cannot stand noise. Makes me feel like my whole body is going to explode - like internal combustion. I often watch TV with no noise and just turn it up when I want to hear something. Often my head feels like it has a rubber band wrapped around it. Must be part of this monster - who knows?

Well anything with a booming beat/loud drumming has had an effect on me in the past. My theory is it could be the vibration causing it.

Yes. Loud noise bothers me. It's annoying which causes anxiety which makes the heart speed up. Probably another reason I don't watch TV with my partner. He's losing his hearing and turns up the TV so loud your head could explode. And then he falls asleep. 😬 I don't dare mess with it. He's one of those remote control controllers. 😒😂 I just move to another room. I do find if my heart rate goes up I sit still and lightly massage the area behind my right ear (it's related to the vagus nerve) and it will slow down the heart rate. You can try it and see if it helps. Wishing you well.
