Paracetemol extra and the effects

Beware of Paracetemol Extra!!!!!!

The packet is the same colour as the normal ones . There is a tiny little red sign saying “extra” . I took them by mistake a year ago and ended up in ICU . It sent my persistent AF into melt down. I did the same this Friday and felt so ill . Living alone in these times I did not want to call an ambulance. Survived the night but still felt ill , then I saw the packet. So there was a reason for my Quaking. Got better during the day. Beware.

You forgot to tell us what this "extra" compromises. Is it extra strong or has it got caffeine or codeine in or what?

Only caffeine

Thank you . All well now but it was a strict lesson to be more vigilant . Annoying when all through total living alone Covid isolation I’ve been fine! Not one episode! So much for AF often being classed as purely anxiety triggered.

Thanks for the warning. During lockdown I got brands which were different to normal so I will check the packaging.

I was sick with a high temperature on a trip to China a couple of years ago so took paracetamol every 4 hours, my AF kicked in and was the worst it had ever been and then I discovered the tablets I’d been taking contained caffeine. I am ultra cautious now!

Maura,I am glad someone else has had this experience . I wrote to Yellow ticket about it.
