Tapering off Cozaar

Cozaar seems to be causing nasty side effects of joint and muscle pain. I’m only 54 and prior to this drug could walk several miles per day. Has anyone tapered off? I’m on 50 mg. Plan on cutting in half. Any thoughts?

Been on it for years @100mg (losartan -- same thing) with no such problems. We can't advise on medication but it would be foolish to do anything which allows your blood pressure to rise out of control.

Thanks for replying. Medication is not a one-size-fits-all scenario. Luckily my BP before starting was only slightly elevated. I plan to taper and see if my symptoms change.
