Ablation yesterday!

Well I am pleased to report that my procedure has worked! I was in fast AF when I was given the GA and the doctor said that as he hot wired each area my AF lessened until it had gone! He didn’t need to restart the heart either it went into rhythm by itself. I had a TOE with 3D mapping which has left me with a sore throat but hey ho, I can cope with that. Came home today - very, very tired but optimistic. Thanks for all of your good wishes xx

Best wishes for speedy recovery but give yourself plenty of time to heal so go slow & gradual.

Glad it all went well, now take it easy for the next week or two.

Best wishes

Nice one. Rest up for a few weeks (at least) and things are looking good ;-)

Have a good recovery and take things easy, I’m 4 weeks ahead of you down the recovery road and there are definitely days where you do too much and then it catches up, take care x

Well done!! Rest and recuperate for the next few weeks/months.

You must be so relieved, especially after your previous experience. I’m sure you will have read it, but just in case here’s a link to the recovery factsheet…..

Well done and fingers crossed. From what I've read, give it 3-6 months to settle fully, maybe even a year. Mine was for in 2019 for AFl for which there is no "blanking period" and I've remained free of it since (not free of tachycardia or occasional AF, but that's life!).

That’s excellent news. Now, rest up for longer than you are probably expecting! X

That sounds very good. Make sure you are now very kind to yourself and rest for the next few weeks.

If you don’t you run the risk of undoing all the good work your EP has done.

Glad to hear such positive results! I’ve had two, possibly looking at another one in the future if the meds can’t control it. Well worth the discomfort, but as the others have said, make sure you rest!

Hope all stays well. Rest, rest and when you think you have rested, then rest some more......and a bit more after than. Oh, and did I mention, rest? 😊

That’s great news! Plenty of rest now. Was that done at Papworth?

It was by Doctor Chin at Glenfield in Leicester.
