Hi all

Does anyone know what the above means

Had a appointment as I’ve been getting skipped beats when I finish exercising

Going to have another echo done and a 24 hour holster monitor

This AF Journey seems never ending

I have a degree of left-branch block (LBBB). These two forms of heart block mean that the electrical pulses travelling down the left or right side are slightly held up and the ventricle contracts at a very slightly different rate from its partner. On a Kardia ECG trace this often shows as "NSR with Wide QRS".

I gather many people are born with this, or that it arises as a result of other heart issues. In my case, an MRI showed an otherwise healthy heart, although I have had an ablation for AFl and now occasionally get mild tachycardia and AF. The cardiologist has put me on losartan (even though I don't have high blood pressure) and explained that this will protect the heart's left ventricle in future years.

From what I can read, it is often symptom free and leads to nothing important but when atrial fibrillation is also present, it can be a problem that can weaken the heart's structure. What has your doctor explained to you?

Basically I went back to the cardiologist as I get what he thinks ventricular ectopics which mainly happen after exercise it always seems to happen when my adrenaline levels are high but heart is 9/10 fine when I don’t exercise ( no extra or skipped beats) my cardiologist said that I had this RBBB with left axis deviation which did not show on other ECG so wants to do a stress test and 24 hour holster monitor and echocardiogram to rule out any structural changes in the heart, I remember the RBBB came up years ago on an ECG as I remember doing research on it so I’m pretty sure I had it for some time but was not sure about what the left axis deviation was all about thanks so much for getting back to me

And is your LBBB a complete or incomplete block?

Hi - it’s partial and a bit better since my ablation, I gather. My GP said it was if no real consequence and part of getting older in a way, but the cardiologist said that when accompanied by AF it wasn’t a good thing to have as it can affect the ventricles, hence my prescription for Losartan even though my BP is normal.

I think axis deviation is another one of those things that show up on an ECG and can be something or nothing according to other addicts if your heart and it’s history. The stress test will be useful. I had one (MRI) and that relieved a good deal of my worry about my arrhythmias.
