New Omron App

Off topic so apologies in advance. I uploaded the new Omron app for use with my iOS 15 phone and Omron M7 BP monitor. Unable to pair devices. Gone through all the usual tricks. Resets, reinstalls, change batteries etc. Anyone out there 'upgraded ' the app and managed to pair? I'm so annoyed as its worked flawless for almost three years. Naturally no possibility to access help from Omron. Any clues would be most welcome.

I upgraded yesterday. At first I had the same problem you describe.

I found that by uninstalling my existing App I was then able to pair my iPhone with the Omron unit.

You might need to go into the settings/Bluetooth where you should see the unit.

All my previous data was preserved and amazingly all the attempts I made to get a reading were also shown on the new App.

Thanks for your reply. Incredibly, I found a phone number hidden away on the web and called it. The advisor was clued up and took me through a technique to disable/enable the bluetooth on the Omron which is not covered in the 'regular' manual. Boom! Paired straight away with the new app and like yourself, all previous data preserved including that which the Omron shares with Apple Health.

I’ve not yet upgraded as I had problems when I ‘upgraded’ a year or two back that turned out to be an alternative Omron app with a different set of features. How is the new upgrade? Is it a real improvement? Are any features lost? As I recall, I lost the ability to view graphs over years and months last time. I managed to get good support by email from the app developer in the App Store.

Thanks for your reply. The new upgrade is more 'feature rich' it seems and is probably an attempt to keep users in the Omron platform as opposed to (as in my case) just link the app and data to the Apple Health App. As I only got going yesterday I can't really comment yet on the new app. I download a period of readings then do a summary (avg Sys/Dis, highs/lows etc.) to present to GP. Up to now I have done graphs in Excel but in truth, the Apple Health App gives an excellent view of trends etc. over multiple time periods of your choice.

I "upgraded" a few days ago (IOS15.1), sorted out Bluetooth as others have described - BUT the new (v7.0.1) but it is awful. It is often slow to display data, the graphs are very poor compared with v6.9.1, data points aren't easy to get displayed, period averages seem to be missing, loads of unwanted "fearures", ....... DO NOT UPGRADE!!I've had very timely responses from OMRON and they admit there is a problem and have told me bot to use OMRON CONNECT but manually record BP results!. They have tried to guide me to return to the previous version but the upgrade has put hooks into it and it tries to find the new app or to download it again! In the meantime I've completely lost the ability to use OMRON CONNECT! Not happy at all! Look at the feedbacks on Apple App Store and Google Play - it's down the pan!

Hi GCI upgraded the iPhone app yesterday and all went well. I did have to delete my old Omron seating from the phone's Bluetooth connections, first:

Go into the iPhone's settings, and find "Bluetooth". Click on "info" (the little "i") and ask the phone to "Forget this device" the Omron M7 device, then restart the app. You'll need to pair the Omron M7 again by pressing and holding the "transfer data" button. Mine's an Evolv, so it might be slightly different. I hope what I've said makes sense and works.

While on this issue, I tend to need 2-3 readings as my first is always higher. Typically, mine go: (1) 135 / 70 > (2) 125 / 65 > (3) 116 / 61. Is yours like that? I'm not on bisoprolol at present as my AF is being kind. I can see trouble ahead if I have to restart even 1.25mg, which my cardiologist suggests.
