Hello Colin, having checked Encephalitis on Google, I see its a condition which relates to the brain. This forum is for folk suffering from Atrial Fibrillation or any other form of irregular heart beat so it’s unlikely that anyone here will be able to help you. I have also searched for any other communities on HealthUnlocked who might be able to help you and unfortunately, I drew a blank but when I googled Encephalitis forums, this popped up which seems to suggest that there may be a connection.

I hope you find it helpful.

I have had a very mild case of Ross River Fever which is just one of the Australian Kunjin type virus's . This was decades ago back in the 70's when tropical rains made plagues of mosquitoes which spread the virus.

From what I recall it was a slow recovery over many months.

I never had swelling on the brain as in full blown encephalitis though others did .
