Sanjay Gupta post 28 April 2020 was about Etripamil. This is nasal spray that works in place of PIP and works in under 5 minutes. It leaves the body in about 20 minutes. Minimal side effects. I think it was at stage 3 trials at that time.
I want it!
Anyone used it? Is it available, or has it been a failure and not gained approval?

Hi Fabfibber—Just discovered your post so hope you are still around. I came across Etripamil and have been very interested in it. It is currently still in clinical trials . I’m a little surprised at the lack of attention to this drug but maybe that’s because it is not currently available outside of research.
I have been getting afib episodes with tachycardia for awhile almost every day. Paroxysmal so they always self correct. Some very short, like 15 minutes, sometimes couple of hours. Currently trying metoprolol which is helping keep rate down but frequency of episodes still there. A nasal spray that stops the tachycardia within a few minutes sounds like a wonder drug to me. Have you been to the company’s website? It’s here-
There are also a couple of articles online about it and yes I saw Dr Gupta video referencing it—love that guy.
I am 70 year old female from US. Cant wrap my head around the whole ablation thing, maybe if I were younger would consider it. Generally pretty healthy, no hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, etc. but very strong family hx of afib. Currently I’m keeping my eye on the research on Etripamil cause if it works like the research suggests and is without major side effects could be a game changer.
