Verapamil side effects.

Hello friends has anyone ever had some strange side effects from taking Verapamil.

I was put on this medication four days ago and since them I have been waking up in the early hours with such pain in my right lower back and side.It seems strange that it all started exactly four days ago when I started taking these pills. It may not be connected that's why I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has had these symptoms .

I have been taking verapamil for many years with no problem but everyone reacts differently.

Many here take Verapamil with no problems whatsoever, but for me, it was the worst medication I ever took. It turned me into a walking zombie with heart rate at 41. I was literally falling asleep at work and was nearly fired from my job. I don't recall any pains with it though, like you're having.

Thanks for the reply .I'm really hoping I don't have that reaction as I have been living like a zombie for the last year

being on beta blockers .It has been horrendous.

This new pain might not be connected but it only started when I started these pills.

Will keep going see what happens .

I had no side effects from verapamil 120mg for the 20 months i took it. Not sure I rembemer reading your syspltoms on the warning sheet with the drug but have a look.

But we are all different.....

Hi there . No , these strange symptoms are not on the information sheet that is why I reached to check if anybody else has had similar . I spoke to the pharmacy for some information . They are of the opinion if its not on the sheet then its not related.

But it started when I started the pills .It is so difficult to speak with my local practice doctor (more chance of finding gold)

Anyway after the year I have had this is only a minor thing. It is not getting any worse .If it does I will contact the cardio team to ask for help but feel so guilty (and stupid) contacting them with such a minor thing .

That's why I thought I'd check with you fellow sufferers first.
