Importance of Blood Testing

Diagnosed with afib in Feb '21, taking .50gm of metoprolol to control heart rate.

Recent blood test revealed glucose increased from 100 to 140 likely caused by metoprolol. Cardiologist currently considering other medications. (prior glucose readings were always below 110).

Would encourage all to take periodic blood tests.

Not sure where you are based as not shown on your profile but most NHS patients with AF should have at least annual blood tests for a variety of things as a matter of course.
