Toothache :(

Hi everyone!

What is the best medication for a toothache until I can get to the dentist, I am on Xarelto 20mg daily,

Paracetamol and warm salt water mouth wash in case it is infected.

If it's caused by a dying nerve (sensitive to heat and tapping the tooth) then sleeping with your head raised with an extra pillow can be helpful.

I would say a bottle of brandy as the AF attack it may induce may take your mind off the toothache but Bob's suggestion sounds more sensible. If you have a hot water bottle or similar, placed against your cheek, that can help as well.

Oil of cloves. Old fashioned, but get some oil and rub it on. It does help

Yes thank you Glenloth, I had it extracted, couldn't cope with root canal and all that business, back molar anyway, the first extraction since I was a child...

I've had success with Tylenol and a topical anesthetic such as Ora Gel.

Gargle your mouth with coconut oil for at least 10 minutes. Spit it out in your garbage or yard but not in your faucet because it would clogged your pipes. I have not had any in cavity in more than 10 years...

I take Xarelto 20mg too.....Paracetamol is fine and i have always found Tincture of Myrrh rubbed on and around the offending tooth works like magic.
