Digestive issues after ablation

Had my cryo-ablation last Tuesday. Wondering if anyone else has had digestive issues following an ablation. The hospital put me on protein pump inhibitor for a month. What I’m finding is that I can feel food that’s passed down my oesophagus. And also some uncomfortable feeling between my shoulder blades after eating. You know the sort of feeling you get when food is disagreed with you.

Yes again kalgs as we say in our fact sheet. The oesphagus is inflamed and will feel odd for a while. It all passes quite soon.

Hi kalgs, I had the same issue. The symptoms were as if my oesophagus had been scratched and my throat also felt sore. I was put on a PPI as well as Gaviscon as my EP said it was probably ulceration of the oesophagus as a result of the ablation. I still get irritations now over a year after the procedure, nothing major but every now an again I need a course of PPI to calm it down if Gaviscon hasn't worked. Thankfully I had read the factsheet prior to the procedure so in a way was prepared for it. That said, many people don't have any reaction at all. Luck of the draw I suppose

Thanks for the reply. They didn’t mention it to me they just gave me the PPI on discharge and told me that they gave that to everyone. My main problem is it discomfort between the shoulder blades when eating food.
