Ablation

Thanks so much for all the recent replies.

Questions?

Whilst I’m going in for Cryo ablation for PAF I tend to have more ectopics than AF . So is the procedure going to be safe and will it work?

The cardiologist has said about 1.5 hours in the Cath lab. But most replies have indicated they were in much longer .

They have said I won’t have a T.O.E so how to they know I’m safe from clots ?

Cryo is generally much quicker than RF.

You have been anticoagulated I presume for some time so no clots. TOE only if anticoagulation not kept up properly.

Ectopics not affected by ablation usually.

The ectopics are more troublesome

But benign. Keep trying the slow deep breathing. Work with your stomach pulling down slowly and then in till your squash you stomach against your spine No more than 6 breaths a minute for five mins minimum. Longer if you can. I know what they aer like and worked for me. I was getting constant ectopics every third, fourth, fifth, etc up to eleven and start again.

Yes …I had sedation ..but I was kept until quite late at night until my groin had settled down. Meanwhile I was given food and drink and lots of chats

I had cryo x 4 pulmonary veins plus bonus one. 1.5hrs for me too. Don't overthink it Kalgs. You'll be fine.

How are you now ?

Yes sedation - feeling fine almost- have a dry cough but don't know why? It came on 3 days post ablation. Coincidence? But still irritating!

Keep well. Thanks for replies . Did you come out same day and how did you feel during procedure?

Same day. Sedated. Nothing to worry about really. Very relieved afterwards. Just had a call from local doctors - cough is nothing to do with ablation and should go with steroid nasal spray.
