i’m just wondering if anyone with a menstrual period struggles much more than usual with recovery from their ablation during it?

I can't comment as it's years since I had that extra problem. Have you spoken to your cardio nurse about this. They should be able to give you some advice about this. Best wishes :)

I did, but it was because I wasn’t on blood thinners until a few days before surgery so I didn’t know what to expect. The blood thinners lead to significant, long periods. This went on for a few months and I mentioned it to my regular doctor. She tested my iron which showed I had iron deficiency anemia and had to take iron for several months. Keep an eye on that!

Not with the ablation but when I was put onto anticoagulants, I had terrible issues at that time of the month. My cardiologist at that time couldn't see why there would be a problem 🙄 but when my GP did a blood test showing I was so anaemic, I was on the cusp of going into hospital for IV iron (I got away with tablets) we agreed that I would stop the anticoagulants for 1 week each month. Don't do this without discussion with anyone but be mindful about the anaemia.
