i was wondering if anyone had vision problems when they first got diagnosed with a heart condition such as afib or wpw? like blurry vision or light sensitivity. and how long it took to go away after your ablation?

Whilst there is a clear link between ablation and migraine aura which can manifest in many different ways there is no recorded link between AF and sight problems.
Some drugs such as amiodarone can cause light sensitivity which could affect the eyes and also cause deposits in the eyes which may affect vision.
Funny you should say that about vision problems- I use to get wavy lines before my ablation whilst playing golf but not on a consistent basis - probably 3/4 x a year. Since recent PVI ablation I have had same wavy lines and some tension around my forehead again lasting a couple of minutes! I've put this down to recent ablation with migraine aura but without the intensity of a migraine just slight tension. I too think it may be something to do with light sensitivity. Thoughts
Any visual disturbances should be checked out by your optician - they will either advise or refer you in the event that what you are experiencing could be symptoms of some more serious problems. Remember you only have one pair of eyes so look after them.
Yes. I still experience occasional blurred vision. It's been 3 years since my ablation. I had an eye exam and they found nothing. Wondering if it's meds.
Are you on any medication? I had vision problems when was first diagnosed with arrhythmias and put on medication. I had vision issues with Verapimil and Flecainade. I also had problems after an ablation with zigzag vision and “holes” in the vision - that happened a couple of times in the week after the ablation. I’ve has no problems since.
How interesting I was diagnosed in March this year with PAF. and I have recently been having lots of vision problems. Light sensitivity, migraines ,head aches,so much so I went to the optician had eyes tested. Never had problems like this before eye test was fine.
So I am assuming it must have something to do with medication.
So pleased someone else is having similar issues as I am reluctant to mention it to doctor . I feel they have given their diagnoses and are not really interested in hearing anything else.
This site has given me more answers and made me feel so much better about my diagnoses of AF.
If you get any answers Please let me know

hi everyone, i am not on any medication. this all started 2 weeks after i started showing signs of wpw. which is an extra circuit in the heart that has similar symptoms to afib such as extreme palpitations and shortness of breath, lightheadedness and dizziness. i got a successful ablation in April to correct it and while its lessening, i still have vision problems that sometimes last for a couple of hours every day. i’ve been to the optician a month after it started and they said everything looked fine. i’m wondering if i should possibly make another appointment. or could this be a symptom of extreme anxiety which is also what i've been experiencing.
