Does anyone get double or blurred vision for a short time after taking either apixaban or Bisoprolol?

Double or blurred vision
Hi. I take both and can’t say I have. If I was you I’d have a word with my doctor, and/or more importantly perhaps, my optician.
All the best 😊
No I've not had that happen.
I have had blurred and double vision but it was not because of the Apixaban but because of another condition and it’s a long time since I took Bisoprolol.
It’s important that you get it checked out as soon as possible by an experienced Optometrist who can refer you if necessary.
Thank you. got an appointment Tuesday
Not taken Bisoprolol for several years now but I recall having white flashing lights in the my peripheral vision when dark.
Thanks
Oh yes and it was very worrying....but it was when I started taking Bisoprolol, it went on I think about 8 weeks.....I was lucky that a chum had AFib back in U.K. and shed had the same problems with Bisoprolol.....it was really weird feeling, noticeable more if say I was in the doctors waiting room and I noticed the notices were a bit blurred......then sitting talking the faces just were out of focus......it calmed down and one day I thought oh that’s seems to gave gone away.I did go for an eye test during this as I was convinced it was my eyes ...
I hope this helps, it was when I started the tablets though and it does mention it in the packet data u get....
Get checked out if your worried though as I’m no expert just saying what happened to me,
Sue
Hi I would love to hear what they say about your blurred vision, mine is blurred in the mornings. I take bisoprolol and apixaban around 8.30.
Strangely though I only really notice it when I go downstairs later on and its worse when I look at the tv. If it’s the drugs maybe they are taking effect then.
I tend to blame my age (60’s) and I’m hatching a cataract in one eye.
I’m overdue an eye test appointment but am very nervous of going, it’s a big specsavers ( but I really like the lady I see there ) and it means parking and walking through town, I’ve only been to weekly supermarket shops and hate doing those.
Is your optician a smaller shop?
I used to be on isosobide dinitrate and my EP took me off it and I noticed a big improvement in the blurring in the mornings but it gradually came back.
I really should go, but with the new variant I’m more nervous than ever.
I hope they find its nothing for you to worry about.
Best wishes

I have had another kind person taking the time to reply. They are also on bisoperol betablocker. They also got blurred vision and felt heady. I stopped taking them yesterday and today I feel a lot better. some people take them at night before bedtime ,and they say that also helps.
I suppose it depends how long you have been taking bisoprolol for, I’ve been on various strengths for 7 years so I would not be able to stop without advice.
The blurring is much more recent, probably if it was bisoprolol it would have happened well before now, it would more than likely be apixaban if anything.
Going to the optician will be the first thing I arrange when I can get vaccinated so I will probably have to wait a good when yet and then allow it time to work.
I too have had blurred vision, feels very odd blurred and out of focus. It does not last long few minutes and I do not get it very often. I remember it happening in Tesco once, I was at the deli counter about to ask for some ham and everything went blurred, mumble to assistant sorry will be back later and walked a few yards on and just stood there until it passed. Have also had when watching TV or on the computer everything goes out of fuocus. I have had AF since 2014 and my medication used to be 5mg Bisoprolol, 180 Diltiazem. 5mg Ramipril (also have HF) and Rivaroxban.About 1 year into AF I was told to increase my Biso to 7.5mg, HR was still a bit to high, I could not tolerate this dose that definitely gave me blurred vision and made me feel awful, so went back to 5mg.
I changed to Nebivolol about 2 years ago (Biso making me breathless and I now have mild COPD) which I find much better. I generally feel much better on Nebivolol and have very few of those odd vision moments. I knew it was nothing to do with my eyesight as I have 6 monthly test as I have Glaucoma.
As far as medics are concerned, I have told them but no one has said what causes it. I do wonder if it when my HR has a sudden drop to below 40, which does not happen too often with me, I am in permanent AF and my HR is normally in the 70's to 80's. What dosage of Biso are you on. Good luck with sorting it out.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I stopped taking my betablockers yesterday and feel a lot better. I see the optician on Tuesday just to make sure all is okay with my eyes.
I do not believe that mine is anything to do with my eyesight as this has only happened since taking beta blockers. I have had glaucoma for over 15 years and had regular 12/6 month eye checks at the eye clinic which carry out far more tests than an optician. My eye consultant did say it was probably the AF but would not say definitely that it was.
Hi Allan...I take 5mg Bisoprolol. I developed double vision last March. Rather disconcerting. Visited opticians, then eye hospital. Whilst waiting for follow up a few weeks later, my vision corrected itself. Taking Bisoprolol was never mentioned as a cause.
