After my most recent Holter I received a letter from the consultant saying that I had Stage 1 heartblock. My question is, is this in addition to Afib or is it the cause of the Afib? Anyone any idea on this?

Heart block can cause arrhythmias. I was diagnosed with 2nd degree heart block and Afib at the same time. I now have a pacemaker and take meds for the Afib.

Ist degree block is very common and often follows long periods of AF. It is not as bad as you might think.
I have first degree heartblock. It is the least worrying one with 2nd degree being more of a concern and 3rd degree , the worst. People with 2nd or 3rd degree heartblock seem to end up with pacemakers. Having 1st degree heartblock does affect how much medication such as beta blockers, you can have but other than that is not a problem. X
