Had the two procedures done a month apart. AV node ablation done on August 4th. Super good and fast recovery. Wonderful to have normal heart rhythm after a year of constant Afib, tiredness and shortness of breath. So thankful to the Afib Clinic staff of St. Paul’s Hospital.

That’s great to hear as Im halfway through my Pace and Ablate. My Pacemaker was put in on 30th June and waiting for my Ablation part to be done. It’s nearly six weeks so was hoping to have heard by now. Hope mines worth waiting for like yours.

Hope you hear soon. I really didn’t know what to expect but am more than pleasantly surprised at how I feel 5 days past ablation. My energy level is already rising and thinking of short walks starting in a few days. Good luck!

I think it depends on how long you have been in AF. I have been in and out for over 12 years and persistent for the last 18 months. I had the node ablation a week ago tomorrow and am still breathless but was told it could take up to a year to feel the benefits. The actual ablation was by far the best experience of the 6 that I have had. They took into account all my fears and I was wheeled down in my hospital bed, where the canula was inserted and I went to sleep sitting up! No back pain, no multiple attempts at the canula, no panicking. Marvellous.

I have been in and out of afib for 20 years and constant the last year. Previously medication controlled - Nadolol and Propafenone. This was my first ablation and although only partially sedated I didn’t feel a think. Took an hour and I was on my way home 2 1/2 hours later.
