Afib returned
Sad to say yes it is. AF is a long journey and whilst some drugs can be most helpful and ablation can bury symptoms often for years, there is no concrete "cure". Any and all treatment is primarily for quality of life (QOL) as so long as rate is well controlled and you are anticoagulated to help prevent strokes (which AF makes us five times more likely to have) then life goes on. Go to AF Association main website and read till you drop as knowledge is power. Then ask us questions and we will try to help.
By the way, life style is important and can be as effective as drugs, so no alcohol or other stimulamts, less stress, a more plant based diet with natural ingredients and no processed foods and a BMI of less than 26 have all been shown to be beneficial. Of course there are always racing snakes with AF so it isn't foolproof.
