Had my echo, check and yesterday was checking blood pressure, blood sample covid swab etc. Tomorrow 7:30 Wednesday I have the procedure.
What concerns me is the advice I got from the nurse who will be in the room when it is done and I am sure will also be pressing the big red button so to speak. A lot of members have been through this procedure and therefore their advice & experience is important. I have read reports like take it easy when exercising after procedure as you can go back into AF yet others seem ok.
I told the nurse that I go for 2 mile jog/ brisk walk 3 times a week. My normal routine is 35 seconds jog 2 mins brisk-ish walk. If I see my heart rate going higher I do walk only and at times stop or sit for a couple of mins to get heart rate back down. She said since I am used to exercising there is no problem after a few days rest going back into this routine!!!??
I think I may just do short slow walks to start with and gradually work up to just brisk walks and cut out the 35 second jog. I just read a post by Dezi how lifting a heavy box of books and a king size mattress did. I am now panicking as a week after my cardioversion my wife & I have to get a double mattress down the stairs across the lawn to garage ready for disposal. I will be new from procedure and she has bad knee and arthritic hip!!!!

Good luck and I would suggest that you get someone in to move the mattress. Not worth the risk. If you are buying a new one then the company you buy from to take it away, you may have to pay but worth it. You don’t need the stress apart from anything else.
I used to spend my money on my sports and travel, now it’s on the help! We need our decking pressure washed but the pressure washer is dead - we’re not buying a new one.
Get "a man" in to do that please. Stay well hydrated and don't exercise past when you can talk at the same time. It would be stupid to waste the care and attention .
Good advice given . I've had very many cardioversions over the years and although was very cautious after the first few , <27 years ago, I was a bit more blasé with subsequent ones and carried on much as usual after 2/3 days . That said, best to err on the side of caution.Good luck!
All good advice which I will take on board. Dunelms do not remove mattresses,I should of checked that b4 purchase, lesson leant. I have now contacted someone who remove items from housees etc and are registered with council. I have used them once in the past and ask for quote and if they will remove from bedroom, waiting for reply.
Had a cardioversion eight weeks ago and threw myself into exercise…, just got the all clear from heart failure as function is now back to normal six weeks later. Had cardiac mri and am now discharged by cardiologist. Do what your body tells you
