Feeling Hot / Thyroid Problem?

I have AF and I always have issues with feeling hot, does anyone else feel hot all the time? I wonder if it’s connected to AF or maybe a thyroid problem? I heard that thyroid issues can give you heart problems as well as a failure to control body heat.

I feel for you because I'm always hot. Nothing to do with AF because I've always been the same. I do have polythysemia which I understand can cause it. Had a thyroid check and nothing wrong there. I'm always the one nearest the fan 😀

Heart issues and heat intolerance are usually associated with overactive thyroid, cold intolerance is usually underactive thyroid but they can both overlap, you would need to get TSH, T4 and T3 tested to start with then do more in depth testing if any of those are abnormal.

What meds are you taking? Sometimes it can be side effects of the meds. Hope you can find out. Take care.

I'm subclinical hypothyroid and definitely intolerant to temperature change. Have you noted any time of day/mealtime shifts of hotness? Keep a log for a few days and see if there's a pattern. Feeling hot and ongoing sweating are slightly different things so worth logging and talking to your GP if ongoing.

When I had an overactive thyroid, I felt hot. I'm now underactive and am more sensitive to the cold in Winter. However, I'm on Diltiazem which makes my face flush so meds can cause it too.
