Ablation Tomorrow 12 May

Hi Folks.

I have my ablation tomorrow so feeling a tad nervous but also keen to get on with it.

I can cope with my PAF but i really want to come off meds and also feel i should act before it gets worse and I go past the "tipping point". I also have a naturally slow heartbeat and so will not be able to increase the 2.5mg dosage of Bisoporol should my AF episodes get worse.

Being in this sort of middle ground does make the decision to have an ablation more difficult in a way but hey in for a penny......

I was also ambivalent but an acute BP low caused by my meds last December clinched it for me. I too was managing OK otherwise. I reckoned that if it didn't work I'd be unlikely to be worse off post ablation. Had a very rough first two weeks but it does seem to have changes the way me heart's behaving, even though the EP isn't confident about long term success in my case. But no regrets and I'll have it done again if needed. Good luck! Ignore medical advice if recovery time BTW - read our leaflets. I'm.syre everyone here's told you that already though.b

I had my ablation last December and its changed my life. I was very symptomatic. No more Afib! It did take me 3 plus months to recover fully though. I went back to work after a month but should have had longer off but was feeling great. It was only when back at work that I realised I wasn't quite ready as I have a manual job. I'm still taking the medication 6 months later although hoping to come off it soon. Good luck tomorrow. You will be fine. Just give yourself plenty of time to recover.

It’s normal to be a little nervous mate I was the same. I’m glad I had my ablations done earlier rather than later too. Let us know how you get on, I’m sure you’ll be fine.👍

Good luck to you! My ablation was April 7th, and I too had a slow heartbeat before it. It ramped up considerably since the procedure and now is what would be considered normal -- much higher than my usual. I'm amazed at how much energy I have now, with my blood so much more oxygenated.

Good luck, you’ll be glad to have it done and over with!

I've had 4 .... don't worry about it. They're much better today ... then when I had my first over 10 years ago. Even then it wasn't that bad, though. You're going to do fine and feel much better. Read the book THE AFIB CURE by EP John Day. Will help you manage your ablation and condition going forward.
