Can you help NICE by completing a 5 minute survey to show a better understanding on how the AliveCor Kardia Mobile was helpful in detecting arrhythmias and AF?

Only applicable to those given device by their GP??
It seems to assume the device was recommended or provided by a doctor which means my answers don't fit to the choices available.
The questions assume you were given the device to trial by a doctor but I used my own which was critical in getting the care I needed so I completed the survey anyway and explained that in the notes. I hope others will do the same to show how many of us are having to prove our own symptoms to get care.
Good point KG - I now have worked around the assumption in the survey that no-one would buy their own monitor.

Please take the survey as apparently NICE are now not accepting diagnosis via devices like Kardia and this will delay anti coagulation - I filled in how our medical director diagnosed new AF cases in screening with Kardia in town centre it's excellent!

I trialled one years ago and think you did @BobD where we had to send daily readings for 60/90 days (can’t quite remember) and then the kardia was ours to keep. I later bought newer model. Still filled survey in and explained in absence of any cardiac care for 10 years + and symptoms changing I was able to show EP when I paid for initial consultation what was happening.
I filled in the survey. I own my own so borrowing was not relevant. I explained that I would bypass the GP and go straight to my EP if I thought any action was required.
I was advised by my heart consultant to get a kardia. Thank goodness I did, because I was never in af when I went for a hospital appointment or when I wore a 48 hour monitor. I am now on the waiting list for a second ablation.
I, like many others, purchased my own KardiaMobile and filled in the questionnaire accordingly. I think this is a vital piece of kit for anyone with a history of AF (except maybe permanent AF). For a tiny cost of £100 this could save lives and avoid strokes. How much does a stroke cost the NHS and how many KardiaMobiles could be purchased for the cost of just one stroke? It's a no brainer for me. Steve.
I completed it with difficulty - its more for if you were given one by a Dr, the other problem being that they are asking for comments and then making sure there is no space to leave anything but the most sketchy comment. Not a good survey but worth doing on the off chance it results in greater availability of Kardia devices or Dr's paying attention to Kardia reports.
One of the questions is:
“Did you use it for the full amount of time you were loaned the monitor?”
This looks like a feedback form for a specific research project in which a KardiaMobile device was loaned to users.
I doubt that it was meant to be shared more generally.
It’s a NICE survey - a consultation survey not research and very important one.
All NHS practice and some insurance companies will only abide by NICE guidelines so if a 12 lead ECG is required for every diagnosis -one has to question the reasoning behind that and I can’t for the life of me think of any positive reasons - especially for those with PAF still seeking diagnosis.
It’s outrageous!
