Jumpers and kardia

Recently I have found it really difficult to get good clear recordings on my single channel Kardia device. I got wild squiggles that I was pretty certain were not my heart but which gave very hard to read traces .

I changed the battery but that made no difference, but then realised I am now wearing more woollen jumpers/ sweaters than usual …and they make static electricity.

A move back to cotton and the problem is gone…

Thought this might help others who got “wild”traces but were not sure why

Are you sure you meant 'woolly' jumpers? Most these days are some form of plastic, whether fleece, acrylic, polyester or nylon. I now knit my own using pure wool, and have never had that problem. (I know wool will charge a rubber balloon when rubbed over it - did that a lot as a kid!).

I was talking about wool, because I don’t really like synthetics next to my skin, but you are absolutely correct synthetics will problem create more static electricity
