I was rudely awakened at 4am again by the pain/discomfort alarm. Hubby bought me some warm water, which seemed to help. It was worse this time, especially between the shoulders but I resisted paracetamol as I'd already taken some before I went to bed. It has been better as the day has gone on so I'm hoping it won't be making another 4am appearance.
I don't know if this is normal, as I dont remember reading it anywhere but I hadn't been to the loo for 3 days. I know I haven't eaten or moved much but didn't know if the procedure had upset anything bowel wise. I was contemplating a vindaloo but thought that the oesophagus may revolt completely. Thankfully, Mother Nature finally kicked in before I resorted to Senokot or Dyno Rod.
Hubby provided dinner al a McDonald's.......... nothing says I love you more than a Big Mac and fries. Here's to an undisturbed nights sleep.

😂 The Ducky saga is getting like a daily must not miss. Completely normal for the loo delay, drugs I was told and the same couple of days then hallelujah after my ablation.I was in major discomfort in the Ribs and especially the area where they went in the groin, EP told me I could take Brufen just for a couple of days , that seemed to help me a lot, and used a bit of heat, a heat pad I had for my back, used it on the entry point and my ribs, whichever worked did a treat .
Wow he must love you a lot! I was made to eat healthy food, "to get me better" 🤷♂️😂, much rather a mcds, hope you sleep, waiting for next installment 😉
Nah, he can't cook and he had money off vouchers 😁.I did think the omeprazole might have the opposite effect on the bowel, which is why I was getting a little concerned. The groin is actually not too bad. The sore and bruised area is down my thigh. Well, it's all certainly a learning curve.
I hope that I'm not going to end up boring folk.😁.
My groin and thigh looked very Jackson Pollock for about three weeks. Use it as a guide to how well your heart is healing.
The oesphageal pain is not uncommon as we say in our fact sheet but I never had much after second day. We are all different.
Sitting up waiting for Pete the cat to come in with tonight's gift. So far this week, three live mice( or one very fed up repeat catch) and one dead one . We use a plastic tub and a piece of card to catch them or as in one night my upturned slipper. Couldn't get the blighter out of there!
Thankfully, I was prepared for the aches and pains, just wondering about the other, ahem!We have Lily and Molly who are both thankfully sprawled on the back of the sofa. They have been my furry nurses, bless them, but have, on occasion, bought home a variety of gifts, live and not. Worst was a live pigeon, which was bigger than them as they were kittens at the time. My husband actually screamed and left me to deal with it which plunged him down the macho scale quite steeply.
Seems there is a live mouse living in Paul's room though we can't actually find it only the evidence . Put some poison down under the bed which I hate doing but needs must. In the last four years we have had three dishwashers due to the wiring having been eaten by the blighters despite careful sealing of all access points and copious poison under kitchen units. Obviously Pete is not hungry enough.
We used humane traps and drove the trapees to a field about 4 miles away (apparently they home) before we had The Girls. I think you need to remind Pete of his duties for the free board and lodgings.
I have got the capsules to take once per day, which I take in the morning. Usually feel better during the day but I guess everything gets magnified in the night. 😊.
I always found the liquid to be more instant relief, and guessed it was because it was working the way down on any acid already in your oesophagus?? i.e. does not have to go to your stomach to dissolve first. Not medically trained and may well be wrong but that's what it felt like.
Sorry crossed wires! - I thought you were talking of Gaviscon, which IS NOT omeprazole, Sorry for mistake. I was trying to say I found that the liquid Gaviscon provided better , more instant relief from the pain than the tabs.
No, but if you read through the text you get to a place where it says you can use Gaviscon with omeprazole providing you leave 2 hours between taking the omeprazole andtaking the gaviscon, so apart from 2 hours you can take the gaviscon as required.
Here's how it works: Gaviscon is an alginate. It forms a raft on top of the stomach contents, keeping them down. Gaviscon Advanced liquid is by far the best for this purpose. BUT no food or liquid following, not even finding your teeth, or the raft will be breached and the stomach juices will escape. It's the enzyme pepsin that's the problem, not the acid itself. We need the acid but pepsin is plain mean to the tissue of the oesophagus and the larynx. More useful singer facts. Trust me - you do not want pepsin in your larynx!
He's got a hernia so I don't think he'd go for that 🤣. I'm not getting a reflux, burning sensation, just discomfort around the breastbone area and between the shoulder blades. Will have to check if you can take Gaviscon and omeprazole together.
Ooh no, sorry to disappoint but the train from Bowelsville had pulled into the station prior to the Maccy D. The Big Mac will probably be the source of today's train delay 😉.
My bowels - normally regular and happy - did not perform till day 3 after procedure. Something they give to suppress pain presumably suppresses other functions. Upping your intake of water helps but for me it's soaked oatmeal every time. Like a Bircher Muesli? For the night time pain, have you tried supporting yourself with extra pillows? I found lying almost of my left side but not fully seemed to help with the wretched oesophageal pain. But I was lucky - only two nights of that. Fingers crossed for a more peaceful night.
Thanks. They have been quiet again today so I may have to ramp up the fibre. I'm currently at 5 pillows 😁. I wasn't sure about leaning to the left as I thought that might upset the ticker. At least I managed an extra 19 mins sleep last night. I think I had slid down so probably need strapping to the headboard........... not in any rude way 🤣.
