Inane Post Ablation Ramblings.....The Sequel

Good evening folks

Hope all is good with you.

Today has not been as good as yesterday. My tongue is better (hubby is obviously thrilled that I am in full chat mode again) but I woke up at 4am with some slight chest pain/discomfort. Did my Quasi Wayne stagger to the bathroom and popped a couple of paracetamol and settled back in bed propped up as that felt better. Its niggled on and off all day but my consultant was kind enough to ring me this morning to see how I was and said that it was par for the course and should hopefully settle in a couple of days, so another duvet day.

Dinner was more of a relaxed affair this evening so not as stressful to watch hubby in the kitchen. Last night, I told him to pierce the film lid on his microwave meal a couple of times and it was reminiscent of the shower scene from Psycho. He had also binned the panel with the cooking instructions as well. Only another week of this I told myself πŸ™„.

Here's to a better night sleep and a more settled chest ......... or I'll have to try a rub down with an oily rag.

Take care 😊.

Got plenty of those Ducky. Great for fire lighters as well.

Glad your EP contacted you which shows he cares.

Love the shower scene idea.

Hope you get a decent nights sleep.

He's a good guy. He didnt actually do the procedure in the end but had checked how it had gone with the team. I'm very lucky that he is happy for me to contact him directly if there has been any issues. Off up the stairs now, one at a time armed with paracetamol and oily rags.😊.

Oh goodness. I think I would have had the takeaways on speed dial. Worse night but it is what it is at the moment. 😊.

Unfortunately in many areas of rural France delivered takeaways are rare! You can get ready made dishes at the traiteur but usually only at lunchtime . Supermarkets have a selection on the deli counters but all these things need reheating if you live km from the shop. Keep up the good work of doing nothing!

Love the title of this post and wish I'd thought of it for mine. You could consider moonlighting as a stand up. πŸ˜ƒ. I too found the second day worse than the first although chest pains were worse during the first night. Oddly enough in the middle of my chest - like heart burn. Someone said to me "right now your heart is mad at you. Give it time" and that really helped me. Sleep as much as you can. Give yourself permission to doze off at any point. I know exactly how you feel about the meal situation btw - have had to shut my mouth a couple of times over quality of meals in Week 1. Balance of spices not right and he doesn't get the texture of my morning oatmeal the way I like it. Now into Week 3 and I'm able to do our own meals again.

😁. I was up at 4am again this morning with slightly more pain/discomfort than yesterday, mainly between my shoulder blades this time. Hubby can boil an egg to absolute perfection but anything else is culinary Russian roulette, bless him.😊

The pain like bad heartburn? I had the same - I recognised it so didn't panic about it being the heart itself. My gullet was sore too for a couple of days.

I'm not really sure what heartburn feels like as it's not something I've ever suffered from but I've read and been told it tends to be between the shoulder blades, as well as the chest and that's where mine has mainly been. 😊

I have batch cooked and frozen meals but hubby fancied some baked bean, cheese and mini sausage concoction from Iceland (I had fish). I have lost 4 stone in the last couple of years so I do try and keep it healthy with the odd treat.😊.

Thank goodness my other half can cook! In fact we tend to share kitchen duties so I don't need to worry about food....

It was a proud moment when hubby made his first bowl of porridge 2 weeks ago.🀣.
