This may not be relevant to anyone reading this but I had an experience about 3 mo. ago concerning metoprolol. I had taken for my heart for over 2 years. I began losing my hair at an alarming rate. My cardiologist said to stop the metoprolol and begin Cardizem CD. The hair loss has moderated but I have lost over half of my hair. Has anyone had such an experience? It may or may not grow back I don't know.

Metoprolol and hair loss.
It's relevant! Frightened by the thought but want to know more.
yes I too lost half my hair fallibg out rapidly over months , it has stopped now and my hairdresser says there is regrowth but not sure if it was metoprolol as i am still taking it, but dose was reduced to half. I was also on amiodarone which was stopped. I am sure your hair like mine will start to recover soon.
Took Metoprolol for eight years- never lost my hair- was a great med for me at the timeI take cardizem now snapping dose and no hair loss
I would research other causes
Have you been under a lot of stress? (I know, we all have since 2020). There's a condition called telogen effluvium that that causes massive hair loss, usually in connection with stress. I lost a good bit of my hair -- big bald spots -- last year and at first blamed it on the cardizem I was taking, so I stopped. I ended up shaving my entire head in November and am pleased to report my hair is growing back all over my head. I've resumed the cardizem after 3 months and no hair loss. There have been many news reports about hair loss and the covid pandemic, and not just with those who have had it.
I’ve been taking this drug for almost two years and had nothing like this or heard of anyone of this happening to can I ask what dose you took for metraprole?
metoprolol tartrate 100mg 2 times per day
I linked my sudden obvious hair loss to Xarelto and stopped taking it. It improved within weeks. I am 70, so is it ageing also...I dont know. (Flec can more rarely cause it but I need to be on it.)
