Hi everyone. Have been on Digoxin and Equis for a month or so and worked well till a couple of days ago. Doc is now trying Verapimil. Is anyone on here taking these meds and how are they going?

Hi. I have taken verapamil with flecainide and apixipan for years with no problem

I have permanent AF, and have been taking 3x80mg Verapamil daily for about 15 years - I found the side effects of beta blockers overwhelming. Verapamil does not keep my heart rate as low, but the side effects are much more manageable : constipation. Regular exercise and lots roughage deal with that. It's diuretic action makes me a little thirsty in the mornings, but overall I have found it fairly easy to live with. I run a few times a week, play golf, and do some weights. I can't run flat out anymore or cope with HIIT exercise, and I miss both, but I have learnt to live with my limitations. (I used to do a lot of exercise, and played team sports, but I eventually decided it was all part of getting older, and to just get on with what I can do).

So, overall, I've had a positive experience.

Hello -- I currently take Digoxin along with Dofetilide and Metoprolol Succinate. I was on Verapamil in the past, but unfortunately it turned me into a zombie. Everyone is different; you might be able to tolerate it better. My BP is low anyway, so Verapamil made it even more so.
