How the vaccine works

I was just falling asleep wondering why a few people seem unable to grasp the principle of the new vaccines for covid when a lightbulb moment occurred.

Picture the scene. A wild west town in the 19th century, tumble weed blowing down main street and little dust devils playing around the corners of buildings when into town rides the local marshal. He stops at the sherrif's office and nails up a sign.

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE- TWO GUN PETE with a picture of a real desperado.

The towns people gather round and and have a conference and a small group of men are selected to wait on the roofs of buildings on the edge of town armed with Winchester rifles to await the arrival of the infamous Two Gun Pete.

Got the idea?

So the town is your body, the people are your immune system and the men on roofs are the T cells which attack the virus. Two Gun Pete is the virus but has not so far been near the town but the people are ready for him. The marshal with the wanted sign?. He is the vaccine showing the people what to look for. Simples!
