Still Breathless

I had a really bad chest infection early last year which may or may not have been covid. It left me with AF 24/7 and feeling exhausted and breathless. This was helped somewhat by drugs. Up until then I had been fit and healthy, playing sports regularly. I hade an unsuccessful cardioversion in August 2020 and an ablation in October and found this forum very helpful. It is now 3 months since the ablation and I am in SR with some ectopics. However although I feel much better I am still quite breathless if I exert myself, for instance if I go for a walk with my daughter at a reasonable pace and try to chat at the same time I am quite breathless which would not have happened before. Is this normal? Am I asking too much to be as I was before and will it get better in time? Has anyone else had the same experience and has anybody got any advice please

As we explain in our fact sheet on recovering from ablation (heartrhythmalliance.org/res...

it can take three to six months to recover from ablation and many people are still improving at nine months or a year. We are often fooled by doctors into thinking that we will be dancing the light fantastic the day after but the truth is nothing like that. Give it time and don't push too hard. .
