I have permanent afib, and haven't had any problems, except with getting travel insurance sorted.

Never had a problem. I checked with my cardio and doctor and they both said I was good to go.

The only problem I did have was the difference in timezones. Lack of sleep can be a trigger for me and this did cause a problem.

Flying itself though was fine.

If and when you are permitted to fly to NZ just make sure that you stay well hydrated.

Might try that next year as we have not been able to see the grandsons in Florida for 2 years - last year I was laid up with a Total Knee Replacement and of course this year there is no way we can travel. Haven't seen my Brother in Soputh Africa for just over a year - he visited a year ago November so it would be a good thing to do the two visits in one like that. Thanks for the idea!

I travel with my afib all the time, well before the virus. No other that usual stuff. It still will not slow me down

Pre CoVid ............. Heathrow to Sydney/Melbourne. No problems. However I stay well hydrated ( with water) absolutely no alcohol on board and getting up frequently and moving around the cabin. Never any problems. I am on Warfarin ( and other junk) and self test so always make sure I take my Coaguchek stuff with me. Always divide my medication, take a couple of days or so supply with me in cabin baggage and the rest in hold baggage. Always take a copy of my latest prescription, particularly if I stop over in an Asian country just in case any immigration or customs people challenge me. I ignore time change ( you can go demented trying to work out that stuff) .... if I take medication in UK morning or afternoon, I just carry on morning or afternoon local time in whichever city is my destination, and if I am doing a stop over, say HK, I never hesitate to cut a dose out rather than risk an overdose.Apologies for late reply. Happy New Year.
