2 weeks and 2 days- unbearable

My 4 th night of no sleep and can feel myself getting more and more down in the dumps. I’m not expecting miracles, I’m not being impatient and am doing everything to take my mind off it, but here I am 2 weeks after my ablation with a heart rate of 144 which had been ongoing since Saturday. Back in touch with Barts who told me to up my sotalol but this hasn’t touched it. Just don’t know what to do. I feel exhausted, fed up and wondering what the point was. It’s no one's fault and yes it’s early days but I was in SR for just 6 days after my ablation and now fast Afib all the time . Hubby wants me to go to our local A& E but Barts don’t seem to think it’s a problem. Just totally fed up. Sorry to rant I’m just done with it.

Sorry to hear your still suffering like this, would of thought somewhere like Barts would at least have you checked out.I suffered a setback last year post ablation after a couple of months and had a constant heart rate of 140 for over a week it totally wiped me out, I ended up going to hospital while abroad after the 3 days after travelled as I felt my heart rate was fast , turned out to be atrial flutter, I had to be cardio inverted which was quick and without fuss , which returned me to SNR and settled the rate down instantly .

When I saw my EP back in the UK on returning home he said they had data suggesting flutter was very common after ablation surgery during the healing process , and that if a high rate ever persisted again for more than a day or two to contact him ASAP.

Obviously I can't give any medical advice, and yours may settle of its own perogative, but I agree with your hubby, I'd get checked at A@E, if only to confirm it's not flutter, they can easily see that in a quick ECG , if you are OK then at very least it'll settle your mind, as the worry won't help lowering your rate.

That is not a good rate to be at for a long time. I'd get yourself to A&E.

I’m hoping you have a better night tonight, lack of sleep is the last straw 😢 I wonder if your GP could prescribe something to help you sleep? 💜
