What an emotional last 2 weeks!! After receiving the letter removing me from the waiting list for my hip, I get a telephone call my 2nd ablation will be on the 7th December and they have sent letters to orthopaedic and waiting list. Just have to hope this ablation works

Good luck with the ablation. I just had mine and also hoping it has worked!

Take good care of yourself afterwards. All the best to you.

That is such good news Tika! And it sounds like you may not have so long to wait as feared for hip joint. You may not feel it this moment - but things are working out for you! Make sure the ablation team know about your hip right before surgery so they do the best thing to keep you comfy.

In my experience ablation takes longer to recover from than I was expecting, but not a difficult convalescence provided you have some easy meals prepared or a cook in the house. And keep reading the AF advice sheets! After 8 weeks I’m still having a cleaner in fortnightly (unheard of in my family but husband has CFS so couldn’t leave it all to him) I’m getting out on walks, going into town, seeing friends and family, planning a simple Christmas. Very happy with the whole process and hope you will be too x

Thank you they know about my hip and doing the ablation with a general anaesthetic, after my first ablation it took around 6 weeks to settle down and felt as though it was a success but around 12 weeks started up again but fortunately not as severe. Looking forward to hearing from the orthopaedics even thought cardiac recommend waiting 8 weeks before another operation

Thank you I know what you are going through, I had my right knee and hip replaced and been on the waiting list since 2019 and because of my afib they took me off the list. Luckily my 2nd ablation has come quickly and they have sent letters out so hopefully the hip will be quick
