Kardia device.

I am having problems with my Kardia device. Would not link to my Samsung phone. Cardiologist cannot understand as linked to his. My daughter gave me her ipad which it links to but cardiologist could not get my ecg which downloaded to pdf to forward to his ecg trial email address. I had an arrythmia yesterday, caught on Kardia with daughters ipad but could not put it on pdf file. Ended up taking a photo of it and sending it to doctors email address because when i attached ecg to email it would not send and just dropped into outbox. He has not got back to me.

Can anybody help me here

Thanks

Linda

Was Blue Tooth setting switched on your phone? Really basic question I know but sometimes we forget to check the basics. Kardia connects through BT.

Where were you trying to send the PDF from? The app or from a saved file on your daughter’s iPad? Which version of the Alivecor App do you use?

I am assuming you were logged into your Alivecor account when you took the ECG on your daughter’s iPad? If you did as guest - that may be why? Is your account linked to your Doctor’s account? Was the PDF file passworded? I don’t know which version you are using but I think that the security of forwarding a file has been tightened.

Just possibles.

Thanks for quick reply. Yes Bluetooth on. Doctor was trying to send from my daughters computer. I had successfully downloaded a test to pdf file but doctor could not manage to send to an ECG campaign inbox. He gave me his gmail address and told me to send to him but could not manage to save. Ended up taking a photo of my ecg and sending it to him. Not heard back yet.

He did not believe that my phone not co patible as he also had a Samsung. He tried but unsuccessful. I was supposed to be entered into a campaign annonymously but because he could not send to campaign address i am to be excluded. I am not bothered as they will just treat me for the arrythmias.

I just have one lead Kardia. No i did not enter as a guest. Sorry i havent a clue if i am linked to doctor. To be quite honest I dont think either of us had a clue! Yes it was passworded.

So confusing. All i want to do now is take an ecg, save to pdf then forward to doctors email.

Thanks again Linda

If all else fails, can you take a screenshot of the report and send it as a photo.....

It should be saved in the Kardia App history on your daughter's iPad.

From there you should be able to share it.

When converting to/sharing the PDF skip the password stage or you will need to give the password to your consultant.

It's hard to keep up with new technology. Maybe your consultant has a new or older version of the Kardia app on his/her phone. Also the two phones could be on different versions of the operating system (OS).

👍 hope you are feeling a bit better now......Google it for next time....😉

Check which version of the AliveCor app you have as there are 2 alivecor.co.uk/.

If you have full functioning version then do exactly what Baba said - go to ECG history which is saved in the app, pick the ECG you want to send, click on the little envelope on top right hand corner and then pick send PDF - without password.

If you have the basic version ie: not KardiaCare which is a monthly subscription, you will need to save the trace onto whichever device you took it on as a PDF file as the basic version doesn’t save history on the AliveCor server. On an iPad that file would be saved in Files either in iCloud or directly to your iPad, write your email and then attach the file as you would normally attach a file to an email.

I’m sorry I can’t help further re your Samsung not connecting - have you checked the compatibility on the AliveCor site because sometimes the older phones won’t update OS which means that apps then stop working. I have this problem with an older iPhone5.

The Kardia now saves all ECG's in the App history automatically, without monthly subscription. It will be saved in the App on the device it was recorded on.

Oh Ok, that didn’t use to happen.

I know it didn't. It happened in an app update a year or two ago.

First, did the Kardia ever link to your Samsung phone ? You can try deleting the Alivecor App and downloading it again or, perhaps a different version.

The Kardia does NOT use Bluetooth to communicate with a phone or tablet device. It uses sound via your device’s microphone. This is why you get a better signal when placing the Kardia next to the phone’s mic. You might have a problem with your phone’s microphone which stops the communication. Also deleting the app from your phone might delete all the previous ECG recordings you have on it so be careful what you decide.

To get a screenshot on your samsung press button on right at the same time as the button on the bottom at exactly the same time it will take a screenshot and save to your gallery where you can send to your cardiologist it takes a bit of practice but an invaluable thing to learn

I’ve had problem in not too distant past. The ap has had a couple of updates and I think it this that caused me a problem.I did email Kardia people. Hopefully your records are in the cloud? Since I had mine, I’d emailed the results to myself as I didn’t pay the £10 /$10 per month subs!

I had to delete the ap from my iPhone and re-install it, I hadn’t remembered my password, so needed a re-set from Kardia people.

Contact them for help.

Hi Linda, so sorry to hear you are having this trouble with your Kardia. I see from other responses on here that yours is the 'single lead' Kardia, which is really all you need. However, the other reply was correct that this model uses sound to communicate with the phone or tablet, and some phones just will not work as the high frequency sound gets filtered out. It could be the 'noise cancelling' microphone function is doing this. The phone's manufacturer is not the only variable, but the problem tends to only occur on the 'high end' better models of phone.

I'm sorry I can't suggest a solution other than perhaps buying a cheap android tablet to use with it? My Kardia worked fine with my previous three phones, but doesn't work with my latest second hand OnePlus 5T. I now use my tablet. It may be worth asking your friends and family whether anyone has an old phone put away that you could try?

To send the pdf to your doctor, you first need to save it as a separate file somewhere other than within the Kardia app. If you click on the output to reach the scrolling graph, you should then see at the top of the screen "SHARE". This then offers 'Email PDF' but using that doesn't mean you have to send it to an email, as it will offer various places to save it according to what is on your device. I put mine in Dropbox (a cloud storage service). It can easily be attached to an email from wherever you put the file then. Don't use a password, or your doctor wouldn't be able to see it, and might not appreciate the extra hoops to jump through using a password to open the file.

I have an old Hudl2 android tablet here that still works, and it could be used for this. If you are interested, personal message me privately.

Good luck, Ian

You can email the PDF direct from the Kardia app.
