Thanks to all those who replied to my post on visual migraines and AF yesterday-it was interesting to read about the different varieties of visual migraine that are experienced -some of them related to ablations, some not.
The “snow” is nothing like as bad as on the right of the picture, and I did wonder if was something I had had for a long time without noticing it (or even if it is normal to a degree). Has anyone experienced this sort of thing in conjunction with AF or visual migraines?
says that "The high prevalence of migraine and typical migraine aura in this population has led to the assumption that “visual snow” is caused by persistent migraine aura. Due to the lack of objective measures, alternative diagnoses are malingering or a psychogenic disorder. However previous findings by the study author show that it seems to be clinically distinct from migraine aura. "
I noticed this indoors this morning in a very mild form- it’s perhaps an ordinary phenomena. It wasn’t there when I went outdoors in the light -at least it wasn’t noticeable. I just wondered if anyone had experience of it or knows anything about it.
If you have only noticed this recently you should see an ophthalmologist ASAP, any unusual visual effects should be reported the first time you notice them 💜
