My husband and I swear by Pernaton cream, green lipped mussel cream. It is warming and works wonders for knees, shoulders, backs etc. I use it as much as I wish and definitely at bedtime for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Best speak to your pharmacist on such matters .

Sorry, I have no idea but it should be easy to find out online or ask your pharmacy.

There is some research on diclofenac/voltarol gel interactions with drugs which interact with the tablet form. Using the gel appears to show little effect, : ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... conclusion was that concurrent use of voltarol 1% gel with medications that had potential for major to moderate interactions had little impact on the frequency of adverse events. However this is just one fairly small trial and was not conclusive. So I would suggest that it's up to you.

Hello, I agree with a previous answer that Pernaton is worth trying. It does help with the pain of Osteoarthritis, very often rub some on my neck before trying to sleep. Like you I can't use anti inflammatory gel. Hope you can get a bit of ease, constant pain can get you down. Best wishes.

Not sure if it's available where you live, but I've had pretty good pain relief in my shoulder from Biofreeze.

Thanks for posting it. I'm in the same boat. I take Apixaban and Clonazepam .For rib pain, as I'm missing 12 sections of ribs due to cancer I used to take heavy duty Percocet for pain. Now my knees are killing me but I "shouldn't " be taking any CNS , central nervous system drugs like Clonazepam and Percocet together as they can greatly depress your breathing. Since Bisoprolol does this for me already , like you I don't have a pain drug other than , for me useless Tylenol. Mixing CNS drugs can kill you. Can't take Fish oil, Vitamin E, Glucosamine and Condroitin , MSM, Turmeric, Ginger, Quercetin as they are all "blood thinners" anticoagulants

I talked with several doctors and pharmacists and they don't seem too sure about anything. I asked them to check with the pharmacopoeia but that got me nowhere. Here in my general greater Toronto area you won't find many older experienced pharmacists . Most seem to be young foreigners or recent graduates . Nice persons but not much experience.

Radian B is wonderful stuff for painful muscles and joints. Your pharmacist should be able to advise you re meds.

You could try plant based Zacin made from capsaicin but you need a prescription for it.medicines.org.uk/emc/files/...

I lost the cartilage in my knees back in 1987 and couldn't get replacements because of other health concerns. They hurt a lot, I can barely hobble around. Tylenol is all I can take because of the Rivaroxaban that I started in 2018. But I have been taking OmegaXL (green-lipped mussel softgels) since 2006. I do not know if it is helping me or not, if I would be worse without it, etc. But I continue to take it. I have tried Voltarin and various Icygels, etc, none of them helped for more than a few minutes. But for my knees when they are truly bad, my Dr Prescribed a special compounded cream, Ketoprofen/Ketamine/Lidoc -- 5%/5%/5%. If you're in Toronto, they make it for me at Haber's. It works like magic to immediately kill the pain, and lasts for 2 good hours, sometimes a little more. It does not interfere with any of the heart meds I am taking. Ask your Dr about it.
