Can ectopics/skipped beats get worse before getting better after an ablation?

6 weeks to the day since my ablation for ectopic PACs. Been getting random ectopics here and there post ablation, especially during veryyyy light exercise.

I know that it’s prudent to give the heart some time to settle down. However, it seems like the ectopics are brought on much easier now compared to few weeks ago.

Instead of getting better they seems as though they’re getting worse. Not sure if this is STILL part of the healing process or the development of new ectopic focuses. Really hope it’s the former. Anyone has any experience with this?

I'm 3 months post ablation...my heart has gotten much more stable over the last couple weeks...finally! Pretty normal...give it time.

I am 4 weeks post ablation for flutter and noticed a lot of ectopics for the last few days. I resumed full time Work last week and was worried that I had somehow damaged the ablation to my heart. I think anxiety and overthinking are more the issue, but each time you feel the best miss it’s hard not to worry that the Arrythmia is about to strike again!

I too had an ablation for Atrial Flutter, that was a year ago and it stopped the flutter completely. However, some months later the frequency of ectopics ie PAC's picked up and I'm having three or four hours bouts for about three hours duration. My heart rate often drops down to about 43 bpm and this is when I think when I am vulnerable for the PAC's to kick in.

Consequently I'm getting a pacemaker fitted next week and hopefully this will fix the problem.

That is great to hear . I’m four weeks post op and still get hours of PACs .

I took several months for the ectopics to calm down. I am about 1 year post ablation and still get a few ectopics everyday.

hello, just wanted to follow up as i feel similar way. Have your ectopics improved? Do you still take any meds?
