Even though l follow posts on here regularly l havent posted for a while. Just lately even though l dont become breathless when brisk walking , cross training or rowing l have noticed at rest my pulse has become more erratic . Is this worth a mention to my GP / Cardiologist. l can power row for 30 mins ,pulse at 150 -170 without becoming too breathless but pulse jumping around . Any comments welcome !

Are you asking because you feel your pulse ‘jumping around’ or because you are tracking it? Do you have diagnosed AF or are you asking because you are concerned you may have?

There should be some variability in heart beat HRV but you shouldn’t be able to feel it - but it is traceable in fact many athletes track their HRV as a measure of fitness.

If you are feeling it, however, you should mention to your GP and slow down until you feel your heart settle and keep an eye on your HR and notice at what point your HR goes variable.

Diagnosed with consistent AF. but pulse used to be a lot more stable .

Track it with your device - assuming you have one - send the info to your GP and cardiologist and request an appointment, even if only by telephone.

Kardiamobile. A lot of us have them and cardiologists approve of them. Personally I think they should be on the NHS. Check them out. Available on Amazon. You get an ECG reading from it that you save on your phone or device, can turn into a pdf etc. I print mine up and send them to the GP.
