Ganglion cyst

Does anyone have a ganglion cyst or has dealt with one? I have had one on my ankle for years ... and it started being painful probably around the time that covid paid us a visit. I saw my doc today and she will drain it next week. In the meantime does anyone know if there is a topical that l can use on it for the pain? It’s awful. Thank you.

Hi Janith. I like Salonpas OTC cream for pain. Also the patches work great if your skin is not too sensitive for the adhesive.

I would try one or two applied in the area of the cyst but not directly on it. I sometimes wear the patches to bed for up to 8 hours on my legs and hips. My ganglionic cysts are on my wrists, where the adhesive would be too harsh. So I use the cream.
