Hi all

Been a while and all has been general ok apart from my breathlessness which is ok if I’m careful and don’t excert myself, been a few life changes with a lot of stress a few more tablets and scans but heart is ok , I have had the occasional flutter brought on by lifestyle alcohol sugar stress to mention a few but not for long periods. Until yesterday after a visit for afternoon tea heart is flipping , pulse is bouncing from 52 to 82 missing beats, feels like a lead weight in my chests on its own private rollercoaster if it carries on into tomorrow may give my gp a ring but I know they will send me to hospital and if it stops you fee like a fraud. Mentally I can deal with it but physically wipes me out. It’s strange but I’ve had a decent run since my ablation but I’ve put weight on, stopped working ,moved house twice , been living with my sister since before lockdown, wife had a breakdown and waiting to move into a new property I have a feeling it could be stress related. I just hope it’s a blip and not here we go again.

For sure - stress can bring on afib.

No way you should feel like a 'fraud'. You must do what's best for your health. Please call your GP and and decide what's best for YOU. Great news if your afib stops in between - don't worry about that - you are not a fraud.

Hmmm - I know where you are coming from. Booze does make you feel relaxed at the time - however it's not the best thing to do with afib (as I'm sure you know). Easy to say but I guess the best advice is to leave well alone - or compete moderation.

Mental note to self - follow your own advise Paul !

All settled down now, my fears were it was returning to pre ablation days when attacks were prolonged and daily wiping me out completely.

Fingers crossed good health
