Bisoprolol Fumarate or Nebivolol to avoid ED

Nebivolol / Bisoprolol Fumarate. I’ve been on 5mg Bisoprolol Fumarate during the last 5 years or so. I started experiencing weak erections. I didn’t payed attention at the beginning as I thought it was due to daily working stress and any other regular effect from the life routine but the problem grew a lot during the last two years. I found out the bisoprolol was the reason of my ED. I’ve been told I should switch to nebivolol in the same dosage as it doesn’t have any ED collateral implications. Any comments on this will be appreciated. Thanks

Nebivolol is very cardiac specific yes . Doesn't suit everybody. Worth a try I guess.

I have just moved from Bisoprolol Fumarate 7.5mg to Nebivolol 2.5mg The only difference now is I get a High heart rate Spikes at least twice a day. I asked for change due to Sleep issues. I am on a very high dose of steroids at the moment which may be screwing me up at the moment so probably not a true balance going on with me?

Hi.... Like all drugs it's a balance and it's what suits you best. ED is a common side effect of most B.P. tablets and after 26 years I do know that. Beta blockers of which this is a version are or can be difficult to strike a balance with your other medication. Not sure how old you are or if a continued difficulty with ED would have on your life. Suffice to say that discuss it with your doctor, there may be contra-indications with your other drugs. It may be this is your best combination or hopefully the doctor says, yeah lets give it a go. But don't expect the rigidity of an young man. Nebivolol is usually started on small doses and increased over time as your body gets used to it and your BP stays stable. It may be the doctor prescribes Cialis for your ED?.

Good luck

Yes. I agree 100%. I was taking during the last 10 years or so Bisoprolol Fumarate 5 mg (half in the morning and half at night) just to help my heart works more easily / smoothly , and it worked perfectly regarding that aim. But I started experiencing as a side effect a sort of ED. I switched to Nebivolol 5 mg also half and half morning and night following my doctor advise. This is a relatively new drug that boost nitric oxide which is good for blood circulation. It worked 👍. I never had any collateral effects at all. Not only nitric oxide helps having a much better blood circulation but also the drug itself ( nebivolol) works more heart selective . Something else : I take nebivolol brand name Bystolic and no generic at all. You can get from the Byslotic lab a special card ( go to google and register yourself online) with a never ending promotion to pay only $ 35 for 90 tables in any pharmacy . You need of course a prescription. Good look
