Much enjoyed - Surrey ASG Zoom meeting

Two consultants and several questions from the audience led to a a wide range of AF related topics being covered. For example fainting is not uncommon when you have Atrial Fibrillation - it can be caused by a quick drop in blood pressure. A useful question to ask after someone has had a stroke is WHY did they have a stroke, for what reason? Tailoring the treatment to the individual - ie passive or aggressive approach. It was fascinating to hear things from the consultants side. I will look forward to the next meeting and many thanks to all concerned.

Just to remind everyone, the next meeting will be on Wednesday 5 August at 5pm British Time, when Dr Anne-Marie Doyle, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Royal Brompton and Harefield Foundation Trust will talk about managing anxiety. This will relate to the current pandemic, secondary impacts on hospital appointments and symptom management concerns.

Normally, subject to their workload at the time, the medical lead Dr Abhay Bajpai, EP at St George’s Hospital and Stephanie Cruickshank, Specialist Arrhythmia Nurse at Epsom Hospital will attend and answer other AF related questions.
