Surrey ASG Zoom meeting......

Good morning, we had another good turnout at yesterday’s meeting with 45 guests, which included a fair number of new visitors from the Forum. Just to make you aware that the next meeting will be on 5 August when Dr Anne-Marie Doyle, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Royal Brompton and Harefield Foundation Trust will talk about managing anxiety. This will relate to the current pandemic, secondary impacts on hospital appointments and symptom management concerns.

More information will follow and RosyG and I will post reminders over the coming weeks.

It might help others if forum members who have attended the meetings could give a brief account of their experiences as hopefully, this will encourage others to participate and benefit from future meetings. As usual, we will be asking for any questions you may have relating to the subject and these should be sent to Rosemary (RosyG) at info@surreyasg.co.uk.

Thanks for your help........

Hi john

What time did you try? One other person was an hour late and zoom times seem to show up differently. Our meetings are always at 5 pm bBritish time so hope you make it next time.

Don’t know John, did you try to join at 5pm UK time? If you are not familiar with Zoom, take a look at the YouTube video I added to the post below.

Better luck next time!

This was my second dial in to the meetings and I found both of them very interesting and helpful. Good to hear from consultants and to be able to ask questions in advance.

All being well I will be linking in to the August meeting too. Especially interested in what both the expert and patients have to say about the emotional impact of dealing with arrhythmia and the anxiety it brings in its wake.

Thank you for opening the meetings to forum members.

Regards

Dee

glad you liked it- we've been massively lucky to have consultants help us from the start- I didn't expect it Also a good group who always attend- it makes the clinicians feel it's worth their time as they can help so many people at once.

Hi John,

If you were late, the powerpoint might have been on screen which stops me seeing someone is waiting to enter. I hope you can make it next time!

Have appreciated being able to join the last 2 meetings. Brilliant idea particularly as many areas of the UK don't have any support groups or access to consultants and other expert clinicians on an ongoing basis. Great to have chance to ask questions. Even though they cannot give specific advice I've found the sessions particularly informative and it can help explain issues which may have arisen since last had contact with an EP. Thanks for opening your meetings up in this way- a positive to come out of the lockdown!

Very much enjoyed the content a huge thanks to you Rosie for organising the event and we were very lucky to have 2 brilliant consultants available to answer people’s questions.

Thank you for your kind comments Steve. Just to set the record straight, RosyG and her daughter do all the organising and with Dr Abhay Bajpai’s help, arranges the speakers who support the meetings.......

Are you still running these Zoom meetings?

They are normally held on the first Wednesday of each month and RosyG is hoping that the next one will be on Wednesday 4th November. She usually posts details in the forum about a week or two before the meeting.......
