Our support group, Surrey ASG, has switched to online (Zoom!) meetings. Dr Puneet Kakur, Lead stroke consultant at Epsom St Helier, will talk to the above title on July 1st at 5pm. He is a very good speaker and we will then have Dr Abhay Bajpai, Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist and Stephanie Cruickshank, Arrhythmia Nurse specialist, answering questions. If you would like to be included, please e mail info@surreyasg.co.uk We are limited in numbers and will take the first people who ask each month. Please e mail brief questions before 28th June if you would like to ask something of any of these speakers. We had a very good meeting this month and I think Flapjack, who helps tp organise our meetings, gave a good report here! It's not confirmed yet but I think our August speaker may be a psychologist from the Brompton talking about how to deal with anxiety due to lack of help during Covid times. Stay well everyone.

For those of you who may not be familiar with using Zoom or may be apprehensive or nervous about using it, here is some information which hopefully will dispel any concerns you may have.

1. RosyG will email you with a link which will enable you to join the meeting at the prescribed time. All you have to do is download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app, make sure the password is correctly inserted and that you join as near to 5 pm British Summer Time as possible.

2. If you prefer not to appear on the screen for others to see then use the audio only option. You will still be able to watch the speaker and others.

3. If you just want to watch and listen to what is being said this is fine, it’s not necessary to contribute to the meeting but the option is there if you want to.

4. Normally, your microphone will be muted so nobody can hear what’s going on in your room. If you wish to say something then you are “un-muted” so that others can hear you (and everything else that might be going on in your room!!).

5. Purely as a precaution, if you decide to use the video option then make sure there is nothing in view that would not want others to see.

6. Check out “How to use Zoom” on YouTube where you will find a variety of videos showing how easy it all is.

Hope to “see some of you” at the next meeting.
