Hi, I am having Afib off and on for 4 days now, think I may have flu but no runny nose, slight sore throat, My husband is sick with throat infection. I am going to try to hang in there for next 4 days to see gp as I have appt booked. My symptoms are arrithmya exhaustion and slight sore throat. My question is can I do gentle yoga while in arrhythmia? Will it help? Trying meditation and deep breathing. Thank you

I can only go on my own experience:- sitting pose and gentle, very slow breathing helped keep me calm and sometimes slowed my HR. Anything else, especially downward dog or anything that involved lying prone or with head down caused near syncope (fainting).

Are you on anticoagulants? Any episode at any age which goes over 48 hours should be checked so getting medical advice sooner, rather than later would be advisable, especially in these times.

Virus of any kind always triggers AF for me. I am assuming you have told your Doctor your symptoms and that you will be screened for COVID? Certainly you wouldn’t get through the door at our surgery without screening but they do have an isolation unit where they see patients with suspected COVID who need to be physically examined.

Hope you feel better very soon. Best wishes.

Hi, thank you. Yes I am on Pradaxa, Dilitazem a d Telmisartan. I'm ok with waiting till thurs. As I have no chest pain or swelling I will however be on a waiting list in the meantime. My Afib comes on for few hrs then slacks off and all ok. I'm doing deep breathing and taking it easy.

Generally the advice is to avoid exercising when fighting off an infection. I enrolled for an online pilates class a couple of months ago, felt unwell half way through and had to pull out. I had thought to myself “I’ll be fine. I’ll soldier on through this”.

My Afib is stable but there is a strong suspicion I had covid19.

AF strikes me roughly weekly. During episodes I still try to do my daily yoga 40 mins which are fairly basic exercises, ie stretches, breathing and balance, but don't bother with anything that makes me light headed. I've learned my limits by experience and just take things easy.

I hope that give you more confidence to try even though you may have offer things going on.
