Hi deb

I hope it works for you, I had a cardioversion about a couple of months after having heart failure which caused AF

It was one of the best experiences in my life, I actually felt the shock and when I awoke, I knew at once it had worked. I was laughing when I opened my eyes everything was clear sharp focus very colourful, I could smell again when I was walking to my car I felt light my brain was awake more alert I could hear more I also felt a natural swelling below I now know what being cock sure means . After 3 weeks it went out of sync I now have permanent AF but it did feel as if I was born again amazing experience. I also elected for ablation 1 every year for 3 years

Initially to stop false signals second to go over original scar tissue thirdly to look for stray signals but he'd put one signal out and another would pop up

Like chasing ghosts

Couldn't do any more for me now have anual consultation feeling ok been 10 years now getting older still living my life yes i get out of breath but not too bad my heart has an ejection factor of 30 to 35% compared to normal at rest of 50%

My BP is 115 over 82 and 65 bpm at rest but does rise sharply on excursion I can do 3 flights of stairs before need a rest

Oh yes ablations first two lasted appx 3 months last one didn't work

Been told as I age i may need an icd at some point I'm holding off with that I'm 68 feel ok

It's amazing how strong your body can be I am undergoing bladder cancer treatment although on hold with this virus

And diagnosed with parkinsons

What have I done wrong to get all this lol

Had depression but got myself out of that

I know I'm here but I do try to give positive advice of my experience

I feel the worst thing is reading these forums one question always comes up " what if " the unknown basically we all are different and all have different ailments no one is the same so think positively live your life know your limitations I've had this for 10 years yes I'm slowing down but still gardening wash cars cleaning walking my dog living my life

I wish you well dont worry and enjoy your life AF isnt the end of the world

Best regards

John jee
