This short video (22mns) takes a good look at lifestyle factors and AF and reinforces the importance of keeping a healthy weight (BMI <27), treating any disordered sleep patterns, including Sleep Apnea, minimising alcohol intake, control (or best yet avoiding) Diabetes, exercising and reducing stress.

It’s just common sense but lots of people don’t want to hear.People think if they don’t eat 3 meals a day, there going to collapse in a heap, my moms one of them lol
Too true Nugger ! Goes back to the days when people didn't sit on their backsides watching tv etc all day, often had more manually demanding jobs and didn't eat at all between meals.....they probably needed their 3 meals a day then.
Exactly, I’ve been finding it hard to keep weight off, I am on beta blockers & could blame them but I won’t, instead I fast for 40hrs each week, eat mainly salads & on Sunday I set off & walked it to our old property 16 miles away, took me 5 hrs in 90 degree weather & no shade for the last 5 miles & one small bottle of water!
I have plantar fasciitis in one heal & a gluteus medius giving me pain from last August, when I tore it. 40,000 steps recorded for the end of the day & several blisters BUT I did it!
Brilliant, Thank you for this
Wow a BMI under 27, that is hard to achieve especially if you have been nearly 27 stone
Well they want it under 30, ideally under 27 and in a perfect world under 25 😉
Thank you for sharing that video Kaz747.
Although it was very technical in places, I did understand much of it and will try to do something about my weight as a result. With arthritis in both knees it’s hard but I know I must try.
I realise too from the kidney function test thread that I need to chase my GP for this test as it seems that routine follow ups are now a thing of the past.
