Hi Well after the failed attempt at an ablation where the surgeon decided last minute that the arrythmias were too many for treatment under sedation and I would need general I decided that maybe it wasn't for me after all. I have an appointment to see them again on the 2nd July and in the last 6 weeks radically overhauled my diet cut out all caffeine and sugary foods and take magnesium daily (soluble seems to work for me) and apart from a few ectopics have had not one episode the longest I can remember in at least 10 plus years. I also take fish oils and garlic but always have. I am still on bisoprolol 1.25mg and have disopyramide as pill in pocket which I have used once when I felt a bit panicky and didn't really need it but is reassuring to have. Next stop is yoga and I am really going to give it my best shot as even for now living with this and trying to get on with my life I eat nothing after 6pm and every night have a cup of Pukka sleep tea and that has really helped too.

Well done. Confirms what we have been saying for a few years now.

Thanks all of you! I am hopeful that if I stay like this I can cope as I certainly couldn't before I was on massive doses of medications and nothing worked so they kept increasing them Now I am just on one and am a stone lighter and feel as normal as I have in years. I don;t think ablation is for me now as I found the whole things so distressing and only was told afterwards that it is not a given it will work and most need re done. It has mainly been linked to indigestion and gas for me triggering episodes and even though my doctor said no it was a coincidence eliminating the stomach problem has stopped the AF for now xx

Totally agree with your decision. Sounds like you have vagally mediated AF, from your comments on digestion as the Vagus Nerve connects from there to the heart. Persevere with the research here and elsewhere, I have done lifestyle/diet supplements for 4+ years now, constantly trying things to improve my digestion (done) and sleep (work in progress). You might want to check out the CoQ10 supplement. Good luck!
